Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDRHere at Springs Wellness in Colorado Springs I use the psychotherapy treatment Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an adaptive information processing model that facilitates processing and accessing traumatic memories to bring you to an adaptive resolution. Successful treatment using EMDR results in relieved effective stress, reformulating negative beliefs and physiological arousal being reduced. EMDR has been known to aid patients in psychotherapy benefits that once took years to see results. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain takes a long time to heal, and understandably so. However, with the treatment of EMDR studies show that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the same recovery speed as physical injury. I can help unblock the foreign object (trauma) and let the natural healing process begin.

This is groundbreaking for those who suffer PTSD, rape victims, life threatening traumas, and any painful events.

EMDR uses a 3 pronged protocol:

1. The past events that have laid the groundwork for dysfunction are processed, forging new associative links and adaptive information.

2. Current circumstances that elicit distress are targeted, internal and external triggers are then desensitized.

3. Imaginal templates of future events are incorporated, allowing the capability to utilize skills needed for adaptive functioning.

EMDR has helped millions around the world overcome their traumas to move forward in life and handle everyday life like they never thought possible before. For more information about treatments using EMDR or to schedule an appointment:
